HeadsUp

www.headsup.co.nz

www.headsup.co.nz reaches out to the hard to engage youth demographic, informing them of relevant policies and allowing live communication with MPs and ministers both online and using txt – making Labour the first political party ever to use txt as a communication tool.

HeadsUp was conceived and designed by Mission Hall Creative with back-end development provided by Boost New Media and SMS functionality provided by Run the Red.

The name HeadsUp literally means “listen up here’s some news” telling
the target market they are among the first to know relevant political facts and information. It’s also a colloquial term and avoids cheap shots like word plays on the word ‘party’ to get their attention.

The website look and feel is based around a number of unexpected, disparate images which allow the viewer to interpret them at will – providing a radically different look to the expected political imagery of politician’s heads and happy smiling faces.

Postcards, website banners and magazine advertisements have been used to promote the site and the live chat sessions with MPs.
