  • The Client

The Real Art Roadshow (RAR) visits schools for free and is New Zealand’s largest travelling art exhibition. Housed in two huge trucks that unfold to form two 78 square metre ‘galleries’ – each gallery displays over 60 pieces of original art by a cross-section of established and emerging New Zealand artists. Touring 200 secondary schools nationwide during 2008 and 2009 and open to the public during school holidays – with over 100,000 visitors in all – RAR will continue touring for the next eight years.

  • The Challenge

Philanthropist and director of RAR, Fiona Campbell, then based in Wellington, initially approached Mission Hall to provide a logo only. However, we quickly developed a deeper relationship with the RAR team, which meant we could grow their suite of unique resources.

  • The Solution

We developed an outstanding logo, an interactive website and educational collateral for students and teachers, including The Big Book of Essays, enabling them to get the maximum experience from the Real Art Roadshow.

We also created a PR campaign to consistently highlight the visits around New Zealand through local and national media, which really paid dividends, when in November 2009 Fiona received the National Business Review’s ‘Supreme Award in Sponsorship of the Arts’. She also received Honourable Mention in North and South’s ‘New Zealander of the Year’ in the Arts Category. Real Art Roadshow: The Book, was placed in the Listener’s Top 100 books for 2009.

“Mission Hall Creative was pivotal in launching us as a successful looking entity then helped us to grow into a successful, fully functioning entity. Their understanding of where we wanted to position ourselves and how to reach our target audience was key to that success.”
