Te Papa – more than ‘our place’
Te Papa has an ever-changing programme of innovative exhibitions and events that attract Kiwis and tourists alike.
Their corporate documents report on the successes and future objectives of Te Papa. To complement and break up the text we used images from their exhibitions and events, and navigation devices as well as visual aids to link their documents together.

This new and exciting book showcases Te Papa’s entire art collection from early European through to contemporary works.
Mission Hall was fortunate to have been involved in this wonderful project, designing the page layout framework – proposing grid, typefaces and image placement.

Te Papa Press – bringing the extinct back to life
Te Papa has an endless archive of treasures just waiting to be showcased.
When we were asked to design the book ‘Extinct birds of New Zealand’, which combines the talents of world renowned artist Paul Martinson and Te Papa palaeontologist, Alan Tennyson, how could we resist?! It is very seldom that one gets to work with such an array of beautiful images and construct a ‘first of its kind’ masterpiece.

Based on the ‘Icons of New Zealand’ book, we were asked to design five smaller books using images from previous exhibitions.
The books are aimed at the tourist market but are just as stylish on your coffee table. Also available at Te Papa Shop.
