Who we are

Mission Hall Creative is one of the most respected and well-established independent design and advertising agencies in Wellington.

We began life in the Chinese Mission Hall (where we got our name and the inspiration for our dragon motif) on Frederick Street.

We are a full-service design agency. We offer print and media placement through excellent relationships with our industry partners. We provide superior value due to our expertise in scoping projects and ability to manage processes and suppliers.

Our clients describe us as creative to the core, honest, intelligent, reliable, dependable and trustworthy.

Our mission is to continue to sustain, improve, evolve and develop our business, exceeding client expectations, and our own.

Eion Abernethy : Creative Director

Instrumental in Mission Hall’s ongoing success, Eion oversees all creative work to ensure designers and creatives are clear about the objectives of each project and that the results are of the highest standard. What gets him up in the morning after more than 22 years in the business is his unshakable belief that great design and communication can change the world.

Linda Niccol : Copywriter & Creative

Taking a walk on the client side as the Manager of Marketing and Communications on contract to City Gallery Wellington, has given Linda a whole new perspective on creative relationships. And, while writing and conceptual development is Linda’s first love, changes in client’s expectations, and her own, has led her to develop the skills of producing and directing video content for websites.

Melaney Branch : Account Manager

In the receptionist’s chair for about five minutes, Mel quickly worked her way up to client service to become our most experienced and most senior account manager. She’s pivotal in ensuring our clients achieve their communication goals and provides gold star service. She knows the workings of Mission Hall’s clients inside and out and can be relied upon to bring her extensive knowledge and cool judgment to any situation.

Chris Mahoney : Account Manager

Chris has been immersed in marketing and advertising for more than 20 years – working on both the agency and client side. He comes up for air when the job’s done and his clients are happy. His approach to job management is perfection driven. Service – above and beyond the call of duty – makes him smile.

Sam Ogden : Studio Manager

Our ever so gentle control freak Sam, has been employed and re-employed by Mission Hall over the past 12 years. We always welcome her back because of her knowledge of systems, both internally and in software programmes, her invaluable skills in financial, staff and print management and her pragmatic, straightforward approach. She’s also expert in scoping projects and factoring in the variables to enable them to be completed on time and on budget. She's recently been up-skilling to enable her to deliver multimedia campaigns.

Norris Childs : Art Director

A quiet achiever and a deep thinker, Norris has 14 years creative experience spread across branding, print and new media. He is also expert in web architecture and design, and problem solving in this often complex area. Photography is another skill he brings to the table.

Grant Sutherland : Designer

More than a little bit pointy, Grant has a deep understanding and love of technology. He specialises in information and production design. His knowledge about the best way to get information across in design situations such as annual reports makes our client’s pie charts sing!

Lisa Taylor : Designer

Her pre-press knowledge is as sharp as the crease in her very fashionable pants. Lisa has more than a decade of experience in production design. Her core field of expertise is publication design and layout (the bigger the better) and she has strong technical skills and a meticulous process.

Milan Reinartz : Designer

Our new German Design-Wunderkind Milan has a skill set ranging from illustration and typography to branding and advertising. Reinforcing the cliché, he has a love for beer, roast pork and a minimal, no-nonsense design aesthetic. Guten Tag.
